Yokō is the older sister of a childhood friend’s younger sibling. The product description calls her the type who “smiles while suppressing her true feelings”—I started listening expecting a gentle sleep ASMR.

Track 1 opens with outdoor cicadas, insects, and birdsong. When you step inside, the outdoor sounds naturally fade, and before the ear cleaning even begins, you already feel like you’re inside the world of the work.

The standout moment for me was Track 6, shaving. Lathering soap into foam, brushing it onto the face, then the sound of a razor being applied—all recorded as-is. The foam, the blade sliding, the breath near your ear layered together: a scene that simply couldn’t work without the KU-100. Track 5’s ice sounds are also unique—the clink of ice in a glass at your ear makes your body go cool. The “icy” in the title lives in this track.

Azumi Wake’s voice has a warmth that doesn’t impose. Listening, you naturally let yourself go. Yokō keeps up her role as the big sister, but it’s because she can’t bring herself to take away the person her younger sibling treasures. That feeling leaks out exactly once in the final track. “I can’t, I have to stay strong as the big sister—and yet”—once you hear that line, you’ll go back and listen to the earlier tracks again. The setting is a sleep-together service shop called “Nenne Koron,” and Erika, who takes care of you, is a newcomer. She’s not easily intimidated, but her inexperience shows through now and then. The sense that the sense of someone genuinely giving their all runs through the whole work and is the core of its atmosphere.

Of the 8 tracks, 39 minutes is full-body aroma massage—nearly half of a 1-hour-31-minute work dedicated to massage, which feels quite rare. The sound of oil being spread, palms gliding, the occasional “nn-sho” breath. Recorded at 96kHz/24bit hi-res, each sound comes through with fine detail, and before long you’re on the verge of falling asleep—it’s on that level.

Aoi Koga’s soft breathing elevates the work’s quality by another notch. At the ending, as you’re leaving, there’s a moment where Erika seems reluctant to let you go, and just that one moment makes your chest tighten.

The heroine is Yuki, a snow spirit from Hitoyoshi-Kuma in Kumamoto. The work is built on three pillars: dry rubdown (kanpumasatsu, a traditional Japanese massage using a dry towel), ear cleaning, and sleeping together. Dry rubdown is a material almost never seen in ASMR works. The sound of a towel rubbing against skin, the changing pressure, and Yuki’s breathing layered together give a sensation like being gently massaged. By the time the ear cleaning starts, the body is already unwound.

In the ear cleaning section, Yuki carefully cleans while sharing folklore from the Kuma River region. Her voice is fundamentally slow and gentle, but occasionally she gets excited like a child, and that contrast always brings a smile. The Kumamoto dialect (Kumamoto-ben) is distinctive but natural, with a touch of charm. Listening, you feel yourself being carried somewhere far away, and before you know it you’ve fallen asleep.

In Track 7, sleeping together, the cave’s echo creates a sense of spatial depth, and within that curious feeling of being close yet distant, Yuki murmurs to you.
